Societa Sportiva Calcio Napoli (formerly called Napoli Soccer) is headquartered in Naples, Campania, and was first established in 1904. Their uniforms were blue skies, so they nicknamed the Azzurri (Blue).

Historically, Napoli are the ninth most successful team in Italy and the most successful in southern Italy. This is because the Napoli had won Serie A twice in 1987 and 1990, winner of the Coppa Italia three times and on the European scene, they managed to win the UEFA Cup in 1990.

In 2004 after experiencing financial problems, the club announced was purchased by the Lodo Petrucci and renamed Napoli Soccer. Name S.S.C. Napoli used back in 2006.
