Liverpool Football Club (also known as Liverpool or the Reds) is a football club Premier League participants. Liverpool is the most successful club in English football history is based in the city of Liverpool. Liverpool has won five Champions League trophies (formerly Champions Cup), which was a record England.18 English League titles, seven FA Cups, as well as, 7 times League Cup winners.

Liverpool are very dominant in the 1970s and 1980s, has managed to win the
Champions League five times (first Champions Cup) and won the Premier League 18 times (until early May 2005). The club is also involved in two major tragedies in European football - the tragedy of Heysel in 1985 and the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.

At first a new club called Everton FC but was changed to Liverpool FC after the English Football Association refused to use the name. Cage they were at Anfield, which is located about 4.8 miles from Liverpool city center.


Liverpool Football Club was founded on March 15, 1892 by John Houlding, the owner of Anfield. Houlding decided to form his own team after Everton FC out of Anfield in a dispute over rent.
